KICK is a new gallery concept established with the specific purpose of providing a group of young Canadian visual artists with an online gallery accompanied by the promotion and exhibition of their work domestically and abroad. Our goal is to foster the artists’ creative development and create fresh professional opportunities without being confined to a fixed gallery location.
Jfry Craig curated the first show in April of 2009 at Calgary’s Art Central facility, featuring work by John Boletta, Abby Fong and Tim Rechner. KiCK OFF, took place July 4th in Montreal and right now all KiCK artists are preparing for the May 1st opening in Monterrey, MX.
Beyond promoting their own work, KiCK presented and promoted many local Calgary art events in 2009. Jfry served on the jury for Urban Burnz and presented Out of Context 3 as part of the official Sled Island Program.
